Project Buena Vista would not be here today without the knowledgeable influence of local Amazonian Indians, especially Felipe Gomez.

For an astounding 18 years, Felipe has cared for the Buena Vista property by cultivating its gardens and maintaining its trails. Felipe also contributes to rainforest education at Project Buena Vista by teaching guests about the medicinal plants in this lush territory.

Indigenous people like the Amazonian Indians know how to live sustainably in a rainforest environment. That is why Felipe’s knowledge and skills are fundamental to our success and greatly valued by all those at Project Buena Vista.
